NIKOLA PINČIĆ – journalist and poet, born on July 5, 1902 in the village of Ćunski on Lošinj Island, had a grenade explode in his hands when he was 16 years old. He lost his right arm and left eye. As a person with a disability, in order to survive, Pinčić performed as an equilibrist on a bicycle for a while, carrying an iron plate weighing 35 kg on his head. When this source of income fell through, Pinčić started to write poems. Pinčić wrote in the dialect of Lošinj Island, one of the oldest forms of the Chakavian dialect, preserving the charm of past times.
